• login into cups: http://localhost:631 as root
• ⇒ add a printer
• choose the network printer (Imprimantes réseaux découvertes)
• tick shared printer
• choose the driver Guteprint simplified

• into the graphical interface of gnome for printers, Canon_MX920_series + Guteprint simplified should be already present

Aucune config particulière: via l'interface d'admin web ⇒ reconnaissance de l'imprimante via l'IP ⇒ installation du pilote “Guteprint simplifié”

⇒ Select “Glossy Photo paper” for paper typ.

$ sudo dnf install sane-backends sane-backends-drivers-scanners

Then xsane and simple-scan can recognize the scanner

Procedure to install the proprietary drivers:

• download the archive containing the rpm's from the Canon site
• extract the archive
• go into the extracted folder of the archive

• $ sudo ./install.sh

  If there is a dependancy issue:

  $ dnf provides libpangox-1.0.so.0

  $ sudo dnf install pangox-compat

• simple-scan and xsane should allow to select the printer as a scanning source.
• other way to scan: “scangearmp” to run the application.

• check that cups is started and enabled
• install cups-bjnp
• connect to the web interface of cups: http://localhost:631/ and login as a user with sudo permissions.
  • add a new printer. The LAN printer should be present into the selection list.
  • as driver select Canon PIXMA MX925 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.11 Simplified

The printer should be now available.

Issues:
Sometimes the printer gets the status “printer not reachable” ⇒ restart CUPS: systemctl restart cups.service
